As many of you know, two years ago, just days after Davis’ 1 year old vaccination shots, he suffered a massive 8 hour seizure that inflicted severe global brain damage. We spent over 6 weeks at Scottish Rite in Atlanta, but when we came home, Davis was completely devastated mentally and physically. Instead of a little one year old who was beginning to talk and just starting to pull up and walk, we brought home a 1 year old that was now blind, could not drink or eat, and could not sit or even hold his head up without assistance. He had less control of his body than a typical newborn baby would have. Doctors told us he would not be able to do anything but lay in a beanbag chair. Davis is still severely handicapped needing help with everything even though he has made some small,slow gains over the last two years.

Today Davis needs total 24 hour assistance.
